13 years ago when Heathrow celebrated their 50th anniversary there was a feature made of it for TV.
If you wait until 1/4 way through a Bristol Freighter is seen ready to participate in the flypast, there is also a short interview with the captain. Did not know there was still one flying in 1996.....now expecting Garry to give me a great big kick up the backside!!

HI Nigel
That was one of three bought by a consortium of BA pilots
Two were sold on and the other brought back to the UK for the display circiuit. A film of the ferry flight is availiable.
The aircraft C-FDFC crashed at Enstone a few weeks after the LHR flymast
The cockpit reportedly went to the owners and the wings are still there as far as I know propped up against a hedge behind a hangar.
The rest was scrapped
The other two one C-FTPA crashed with Hawkair at Bronson Creek. The other one was eventually retired and donated to a museum where it still sits in airworthy condition
There have been moves to bring it back to the UK but nothing has come of it.
Right.must look at the video now

Well..i could only be the one aircraft and in any case I knew which one it was.
BTW the last flight of a Freighter was in 2004....C-FTPA mentioned above crashed in 1997 and the spares ship ('YQS) was rebuilt for service.

Funny that the LHR vid should be posted. I was having a clear out the other day and found the VHS I recorded the day it was on TV. Just watched a bit of the Youtube vid and I remember it well.
