We're going to go for 2 runs on Sat 31st Oct.. museum schedule as follows..
‘THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN AND OUR FLYING MACHINES’
SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2009
SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES
• *Aero-engine running demonstrations including Sopwith Camel (1917 Clerget rotary), Napier Railton (24-litre 1930s Napier Lion) and Vickers Vanguard (Rolls Royce Tyne)
• Meet former airline, military and test pilots who flew Brooklands-related aircraft
• Aircraft cockpits, cabins and Hurricane restoration workshop open for inspection
• Concorde Simulator open with Concorde Aircrew in attendance
• Book Launch: The Battle of Heligoland Bight 1939 by Robin Holmes – the story of the Brooklands Wellington Bomber ‘R’ for Robert.
EVENT SCHEDULE
10.30 – 12.30: Pilots available beside relevant aircraft to talk to visitors; Maurice Curties (RAF WW2: Wellington & Hampden bomber pilot); Clive Elton (BEA Vanguard pilot); Arthur Ord-Hume (light aircraft designer, builder and Kronfeld Drone pilot); Chris Orlebar (BOAC/British Airways VC10 & Concorde pilot) Chris Roberts (RAF Red Arrows: Gnats & Hawker/BAe test pilot: Harrier and Hawk).
Robin Holmes will be signing copies of his new book by ‘R’ for Robert in the Wellington Hangar
11.00 - 13.00: Hawker Hurricane workshop tours (in Wellington Hangar)
11.30-11.45: Napier Railton start-up & (static) engine run (outside Campbell/ ERA sheds)
12.00 – 12.30: *Aero engine running demos: Bleriot, Santos-Dumont Demoiselle,
Kronfeld Drone & Sopwith Camel (on grass area behind Concorde)
12.30 – 12.45: Vickers Vanguard Engine Run
14.00 - 15.30: Workshop tours and ‘meet the pilots’ sessions continue. Robin Holmes will be signing copies of his new book by ‘R’ for Robert in the Wellington Hangar
14.30 - 14.45: Napier Railton static demo (outside Campbell/ERA Sheds)
15.00 – 15.30: *Aero engine demos: Bleriot, Demoiselle, Drone & Camel
15.30 – 15.45: Vickers Vanguard Engine Run
15.45: ‘Live’ aircraft return to hangar
16.00: Event ends & museum closes * Subject to weather and serviceability

Sadly.. it's only going to be 3 + 4 again but we'll try and make it fun for those that attend
15:45.. 'Live' aircraft return to hangar should be interesting (the museum often forget we're 'Live')
