Hi Guy's..
Just in case any of you have been out of touch.. the clocks go back an hour tonight here in the U.K. so..
a) put your clocks back now and..
b) don't be alarmed when you next start up flightsim and it rebuilds the scenery.cfg when you've not loaded anything new
Back to the Dark Ages!

Ah, so now only four hours difference between the UK and the Colonies (until 1 November, when standard time starts here). The candy industry here lobbied hard to extend DST so that it would not end until after Halloween.

Why is Halloween so important to warrant the time change delay??

Halloween is a major event here. I think it is second only to Christmas in generating retail sales. The candy industry thought that if daylight hours were extended, so that it did not get dark until around 18:30, then more very young kids would go trick or treating. More trick or treaters = more candy sold!
I am not sure this actually worked, since most very young children are accompanied by parents and the extra daylight hour really does not matter.

Cheers Nigel
I realise it's a big thing in the uS and a lot of that is tranferring this side. I just couldn't see the logical tie in with the extra hour
Perhaps from what you say it was never there in the first place

Forgot about the Trick or Treating night
Lock your doors, switch off all the lights...stay very quiet. Then the little bar-stewards might go elsewhere!!
