The Regular SAS (not the TA SAS) recruited their first declared female member a few years ago!

I'm a Herefordian by adoption, and this "declared female" thingy has got me thinking now.

While I'm sure she'll be remembered as the first female 'Reds' pilot (and why not

) much of what I've seen focuses on this.. as if she's sprung up from nowhere to be chosen. The fact that she's a combat veteran with a couple of tours in Tornado's under her belt is hardly touched on.. unless I'm seeing different reports
Good luck to her and all the other female pilots/aircrew serving in far off, godforsaken places

I wonder if she'd have failed had she needed to do a reverse

I think it's just because the Red Arrows is seen as the top of the tree, ignoring thioe that are doing the real job.
As such and the media being what it is produces just what we see here
At least one article I read could give the impression the Red Arrows was the RAF.in the way that it was all that was important.
