AI Advice Please

Hi Folks.I was reading a feature in PC Pilot recently on AI,both freeware and payware and am wondering whether to try somewhere like Project AI for example.I only have default AI at present and was wondering if the quantity of imported AI traffic seen on screen is still controlled by the normal settings in FS9.My PC is a few years old now but runs FS9 quite happily which I realise is a bit of a vague statement, but wondered if anyone has a general idea of the effect of such AI traffic on frame rates.Thanks.ATB EricT :)

Addon AI, such as Project AI or World of AI, is a great improvement over the default stuff. The models are desgined for AI so don't impact frame rates too much, although you do get a lot more movements which will have a negative effect on FPS. Properly designed schedules should have varying levels so your AI slider will still work to reduce or increase the amount.

I advise to go for World of AI...It has an excellent installer and a huge list of airlines to download. I use it all the time and install ALL their packages.

I can only back -up Peter on WOAI ...

but .... don't be fooled .. one of the FPS-thieves are AI-traffic, you'll see that when you e.g. go to EGLL with your AI-sliders to 100% compared to 0% .... it IS a hog, but as stated I wouldn't be without it .....

I don't have WOAI Eric.. I use a mixture of stuff but I can echo Dan's comment. While it may look pretty.. at busy airports, your framerates will take a huge hit. Don't forget that Peter now has a pc capable of running a small African nation although he seemed happy with the setup on his old rig (which was probably faster than the one I've just built)
