Cycling: Winter training - Lyme park, Cheshire

Hi guys,

Not posted any of my cycling antics for a while. I have left that to the growing peloton of cyclists on here.

Todays ride was from my home to Lyme Park in rural Cheshire.

Lyme park is a beautiful unspoilt part of the National Trust. Home to the famous Lyme Hall which has featured in several documentaries and drama's on TV.

There are several beautiful old buildings to visit but today I was pushed for time and did'nt really have time to stop and take in too many of the pictures. The sun was shining in the wrong spot for me in one or two pictures so I apologise for poor quality.

Plus I was on my road bike so getting to the remote stuff is difficult without the right bike (ie Mountain bike with knobbly tyres!)

Quite pleased today. According to my Cateye computer, I managed 46.6 miles in just over 2hours. (2:02:34 was my time).

Cheers Garry.

Many people say the same thing.

Stockport has a large greenbelt area and has some beautiful old artifax dotted all over the place.

Then there are some of the inner city bits that are like a war zone.

That's just the beauty of cycling.

Get off the main roads into the scenary and still cover a good distance in spledid tranquility :)

Thanks for posting those shots Eddie, though I must confess, the only time I was in Cheshire was at Wilmslow back when......

ImageYeah, right!!!! Don't you mean 46 kilometres in 2 days?

All this racing around that you youngsters do is so unnecessary. Why not just leave earlier and take your time?

Fantastic looking bike, Eddie. Wonderful photos, too. I think you had a really good day - well done.

Thank you for those, I thoroughly enjoyed them.

Ian :)
