Al I was missing was the usherette with the Ice Creams.

The posters father was a pilot in the late 50's/early 60's & he ofter carried his 8mm camera with him, but the blurb at YouTube explains it all.

Spot the Vulcan & Valiant, the Britannia, the Carvair I think it is dropping off is Jaguar or is that the Bristol Freighter.

Great films..proves something I was trying to convince someone about a while ago and that is how low they often flew

Some interesting things there.

The Supefreighter in formation seems to be G-AMSA which was painted in a slightly differnent version of that livery to all others.

The landing shot with the shadow seem to show he was flying their only 31 G-ANMF.

G-APAV in basic SABENA was new to me as I've only seen pics of the full livery.

Nice to see the Channel Vikings and the early V.700 VIscounts waiting for their next load.

Younger members may not realise that Lydd and Southend wew very busy then with what amounted to a virtual continuous shuttle with Car Ferry, coach air, or railair

Obviously he started on Vikings and graduated to the Brit -- cant imagine how mind numbing flying a viking from the UK to Entebee would have been Im assuming from what I saw that he must have flown for Airwork/BUA - the mountain shots look like they may have been at Perpignan

thats the first time I've seen the superfreigter in flight....

just ~ think Garry ....they had no clue the plane they were flying would be flyable in the virual world
fifty plus years later..
or that it would be up for the world to see..... things have changed

That long nose is a Varsity testbed with a modified nose

Nigel did a vid show a formation of Bristol 170's but I never imaginged i'd see real fiml of that
