Sorry to hear you're suffering from seasonal gloom, Derek
Anyway, well done for attempting to bring a bit of culture into the proceedings! Pretty futile, to be honest, with this lot. But worth a try
Thanks for the link. It was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I changed my in-car 'entertainment' from sixties pop to operatic arias under the influence of Inspector Morse. Although driving round the Trowbridge one-way system in a Corolla duetting with Katherine Jenkins doesn't engender the same aura as cruising the dreaming spires of Oxford in a classic Jaguar
Now - has anybody heard Bob Dylan's cover version of Nessun Dorma yet? It can't be far off ...
Ian

On the links next to it they have what is considered the definitive version by Merrill and Bjorling. I recommend listening to that version. But both are good. Bizet could knock out a good tune.

Y E S.. the end moved me out of what the rest had put me into

I had a feeling I shouldn't have clicked on the link but there you go.. it's late and drawn like a moth to a flame.. e t c
I thought it was only Inspector Morse who listened to music like that.. not REAL people

I seem to be in a minority
Ten seconds of that and I'm depressed

Sir Christopher Lee wrote that he once sang with Bjorling, as a bit of an opera singer himself I think Bjorling asked to hear him and they had a few drinkies and songs together. That would have been something to hear.

It's the end bit Garry, the end bit....
I'm not an opera expert by any means but there are certain songs that raise the hairs on the back of my neck and make my toes curl....and that's one of them
After seemingly endless weeks of grey skies and rain I've really been suffering with the winter blues...that duet gives me a serious boost.
Anyway, the sun came out today, a beautiful bright day.....I feel a lot better and before work I took a long cycle ride along the Bridgwater to Taunton canal...no pics I'm afraid, I'll keep that one for me.....
Cheers folks
Derek
