Thats brilliant eddie... and I think it might be pretty current as I'm on the southern vectors to Newcastle there was definately an aircraft over South Shields a few minutes before it appeared on the screen here (although I couldn't tell if it was BA, it did sound like an airbus)

It looks similar to the ship plotter Ben.....reads the transponder every 100 seconds or so and is certain live

For security reasons virtually all of these sites have a built in delay. VS 200 , which was shown as going out towards Clacton at 2252, had actually departed LHR at 2215, and thus I think there is a delay of about 15 minutes built in

Unless the delay is variable.. it's not very secure though is it An old security warning in the pub trade is never use the same route to go to the bank. Unfortunately, if your pub is on a high street with the bank in the same street.. your options are a little err, well, there aren't any Better than nothing I suppose but about as much use as a couple of sandbags against a flood in reality.

Got it in one mate. Technology is such that if you can turn a pc on.. you're more than halfway there. From my personal point of view, I think all such sites should be banned on the internet and those responsible for reproducing so called 'live' transmissions, be it 'radar' or radio transmissions of any and all descriptions should face the full weight of the law.. that includes imprisonment if appropriate. It's a sorry state of affairs and no mistakin' but what other realistic options are there It is the nature of the beast that whatever security precautions are put in place, the 'orange forces' will do their level best to get around them until that layer is cracked.. by which time, the 'Blue forces' have moved one step ahead.
In reality, a 'live feed' delayed is as secure as the TV TImes. Flights are published many months in advance.. they have to be.. and all you need to confirm or deny any such delay is a bod at the airport with a mobile phone. Why make things yet easier for them

I had a similar chat with one of my contractors recently who was suggesting that fredom of information on the internet is a human right.

Needless to say that lasted about 2 nano seconds before I gave him both barrells

That is not very creative, Dave. Leave the pub and travel in the opposite direction of the bank and circle back around, varying the circle route. For example, sometimes you could go via Wokingham and on another trip via Henley-on-Thames. To really fool them, take off to to the M4 and circle the M25! You might need some guidance from Lyn Bowles, the traffic chick on Radio 2 for that one. Now with the price of petrol and the time involved, you may find this a wee bit uneconomic and impractical, but there are options!
