Whilst driving home for lunch today, I came up behind a learner driver, in a Mini from a local driving school.

Emblazoned across the back of said Mini was this legend:-

"CAUTION - SUDDEN BREAKING"

I couldn't get a picture unfortunately, but it sure raised a smile.

Nigel, I suspect with our dumbed down,semi-literate society this will go largely unnoticed. EricT

Only a few weeks ago I was proof reading something at work about the recovery of break shoots when they meant brake 'chutes. At least they didn't call them deployable fabric retarding system

A while ago, I was driving in to Brisbane on the deadly Kessels Rd. At one of the worst intersections , there was one car neatly parked in a flowerbed on a traffic island, and upside down in the middle of the road, another car marked "Fred's Smash Repairs Courtesy Car". I couldn't help thinking that driver must be having some sort of 'Groundhog Day' experience.
And in Falkirk a couple of years ago, I saw a large sign at a roundabout, directing me to "Antonine's Wall"
