Enough Already!

I woke up this morning to 20 inches of snow outside. It started Friday around noon and is supposed to continue until 22:00 tonight. Unlike the 19 inches we got before Christmas, this is a very wet, heavy snow. Some of the fir treees in my yard are bent over so the tops are touching the ground. Looks like I am going to get a year's worth of excercise shovelling this lot! Enough already!

Nigel you have my sympathy

We had to cancel Roanoke and Hagerstown yesterday --- They just reopened KROA after 24hours of snow removal!

Thanks everyone - still snowing but now it is light powdery stuff since the temp has dropped to -3C. Good excuse to stay inside and fly! I have a feeling Washington DC will be closed for several days. I am just thankfull I still have power since there are many power outages.

Dave, you may not get this one since it is heading from NW to SW. Of course when it hits the Gulf stream it might change course.

Update - Mercifully, it stopped snowing around sunset, leaving behind 30 inches (33 cm) of snow in Herndon. Dullus (KIAD) got 34 inches. That is the good news. The bad news is they are forecasting a low of -13C tonight for the suburbs.

30Inches is 76 cm . . . . . . . But then most of us probably understand imperial better than metric anyway. ;)

:agree: :agree:

I would Joe, it snowed enough here on Friday, but that turned to heavy rain and the snow has pretty much gone now.

The weather man reckons it'll be back next Thursday though. 8)

Thank goodness for global warming.
