Classic British Flight Sim

This thing tickles me, someone knows Railworks?

I have RailWorks and am pretty pleased with it. It's the follow-on to RailSim.

It gets a lot of bad press from the train sim purists. It gets labelled more as a game than a true simulator.

Graphics are good but signalling, physics and scenarios not very accurate.

Lots more info at www.uktrainsim.com. Some of the developers/content creators hang out there too - at least it is still being developed.

I haven't yet tried railworks but have used railsimulator and thought it was ok. I might well use this offer to get myself a copy of it. I still believe there is only one true train simulator and although it is very old now MSTS is still my favourite train simulator. It is also the sim I am developing for and a loco of mine should hopefully appear on http://www.uktrainsim.com very shortly.

What is this baffling appeal about a train simulator? There's even a subway train sim out now; you go through tunnels, and stop at stations deep underground. It sounds huge fun...but why ?? I feel the need for a train !

If you're into train simulators, look into Trainz software. The publisher is www.auran.com, an Australian company. Their programs have a large choice of routes and trains from the UK, Australia, USA, and other European countries. You can drive the trains, as well as build your own routes and add trains, scenery, etc., from their free Download Station.

I'm using Trainz 2009. Their latest is Trainz 2010, but I'm not sure if it includes the Surveyor option (the one that lets you build your own system). It's worth a look at their website. It's an amazing simulation.
