Yup.. nice bit of film that. The dvd is equally good.. only much longer

That reminds me.. Ben was looking at the Corgi VC10 and I thought when looking at the shots, it's inner wing fences didn't look very pronounced.. if there at all. That clip shows them to be rather more noticeable ;)

British United is the classic Standard VC10 livery in my opinion and is shown off beautifully in this old film.

I like that livery too mate.. whatever it sits on ;) The funky 70's yellow/pale blue was ok (in an odd sort of way) but certainly, the earlier version shown in that clip is my fave BUA

It is quite nice, but the best livery on a standard has to be 1964 BOAC (as per the original G-ARTA livery) on a 1103, its XX914 every time

Indeed Ben :agree:

That early striped tail BOAC was a beauty B)smk

One thing about that BUA livery is it does not photgraph well

In real life it was very, very smart B)smk

That's great footage. And I love the calm and orderly way everyone leaves the aeroplane at the end.

That's absolutely true - indeed it's hard to know what the exact colours were owing to image degradation, etc.

It's arguable as to whether the upswept stripes work on every aircraft, but I always thought that livery worked especially well on the Herald.
