Forced landing 300 miles off course

Made a 'crash landing' in Devon covered in ash after travelling SE instead of NE.
Was the volcanic ash to blame???

Come on now chaps. It's not right to be getting a few cheep laffs from this poor wee birds predicament.
We should be thinking, what can we do to help him to get back to his loft? Or is that just Pie in the Sky?
