Delta 767s frequently head over the UK en route to Amsterdam. Clearly someone thought this one was going there.

Standard routing to LHR is overhead Birmingham like the other southbound aircraft.

There have been all kinds of strange routing lately.....odd doglegs and the like :worried:

Nothing much seems to make sense at times to us laymen

Our resident ATCO will know more about this than me , but I believe there is currently from time to time an overload of traffic through Honiley ( which coincidentally appears on your screen as 2 , possibly 3, Ryanair flights) and thus dependent on FL, Heathrow inbound may be routed for descent via Trent/Lesta/Daventry thus avoiding conflict

Hi all.
They may be changing the air corridors from time to time,to cator for the volcanic ash clouds,to try and stop the disruptions or cut down the disruptions as much as posible, and this might be the reason in this case.
