World cup blues

Post by VEGAS »

Well guys where do we start.

That performance tonight from so called world class players was nothing short of disgraceful.

Especially against such an unestablished and unknown side.

Many English hearts broken tonight.

They don't deserve a place in the tournament. :(

I'm not one to give in but they really are dire.

Listening to the pundits on TV.. the knives are already being sharpened.

Why does he play them 4-4-2?? They never (or rarely) play in that formation with their own clubs??

Before the WC.. Fabio was the best thing since sliced bread. England were getting good results and no one complained then. What has happened to cause this change you may well ask. Well.. they all got on a jet and flew to South Africa! The ball is wrong.. the pitch is wrong.. those b1oody horns are wrong

There IS good news though. IF we beat Slovenia(sp), we still qualify ;) Unfortunately, from what I saw of the second half.. they'd have trouble beating Dagenham Girl Pipers. Why the hell Rooney complained that they were being booed by 'home fans' is beyond me. Does he really think England gave a performance worthy of wild applause and singing in the streets :-O

I really feel sorry for Steven Gerrard. Who the hell would want to be made Captain of a bunch of herberts like that. Best he can do is report sick before it's too late ;)

Lampard was rubbish again and doesn't deserve to be in the team, there is no one in mid field who can hold the ball up, so Rooney had no service, got fed up and was crap, why in gods name did Heskey start (again).

But having said all that I don't think there are many of them who make the slightest effort for their country, they are more interested in the 100's of thousands of pounds they get paid by their clubs. The FA need to change the rules so players can be selected from outside the premiership....

On a plus note, if this is the best of the premiership, I expect our Newcastle team to finish in the top 3 next season

Steven (O.J.Simpson) Gerrard is lucky not to be inside anyway Dave.

Not aware of any such rule Ben. After all, eligible players playing overseas can be selected. It's not that long ago that Steve Bull played for England when he played in the second division for Wolves.

We were dire tonight. It was like watching my team (League 1, aka Third Division, Oldham) - the mistakes and lack of ideas and ambition were all too familiar. :wall:
