Thanks for posting the link Garry. I've just spent a wee while looking at the pictures, when I should have been mowing the lawn.
I was particularly interested in the Turnhouse military shots, as I flew in there several times in a Hastings. The ground crews usually went on the UK internal flights in order to "kick the tyres" and be starter crews. It was considered to be a good skive.
Sure enough, there is a shot of Hastings 535. A 36 Sqdn aircraft that I worked on, and flew in. As I looked at the shot, something was nagging at me that it wasn't "right"
It suddenly hit me, that the badge was wrong. It's the wrong way round! The bird is facing the wrong way! How very strange?
When I was serving, the squadron marking was a dark blue diamond with the number in white, at the top of the fin. Later, they started putting the central image from the squadron badge on the fin. In the case of 36, this was a Sea Eagle carrying a torpedo.
Maybe not of great interest to most people, but I thought I'd share it.

Yes......this sort of thing is distracting..I don't remember what it was I was supposed to be doing but whatever it was, didn't get done
