Is there any good British aircraft for FS2002?

I fly in both FS2002 and FS2004.

It's really more of a 2004/FS.X thing nowadays rather than backwards

But anything for 2004 is worth trying in 2002 so if you have it for FS.9 the give it a go but there might be issues with the dynamics

There are a few earlier models for 2002 that won't run in F.9 due to the way the compiling was then animations a mucked up and some part missing. There was a Comet 1 that suffered that fate.

Many 2002 models are fine in FS.9.Rick Viascount and Vanguard were made for 2002.

I doubt if there are any 2002 gems hidden away.......going to the main sites should show up pretty well what is about.

Ricks older Chipmunk works nicely in FS2002. I intend on using FS2002 specifically for flying in the UK and keep my FS2004 install as is.

That's good

I can't comment on military or light aircraft as I don't have any on my sim

Lord Maltby of Brooklands had some versions of his VC10 which he never replicated/updated for FS2004, specifically a K2/K3 - it's over at Flightsim, probably the most sensible place to do a FS2002 specific search since the Avsim library got decimated post-hack.

I would strongly suggest paying a visit to the Alphasim giveaway link (posted under appropriate thread in this forum).

They have plenty of stuff there - I downloaded a couple of dozen, mostly to use in CFS2 - in which my interest has been re-awakened since Just Flight decided to sell off all their old MiG v. Sabre type add-ons from that period (i.e. FS2002/CFS2) - might be worth popping over there, too to see if they have any left.

They were going very cheap - £3 to £5 mostly.

J.

PS - I just checked - I got over 220 FS2002 and/or CFS2 aircraft from Alphasim for nought - and I didn't even download all of the available ones! :-O
