I was feeling mischevious so I asked the newsagent girly person a question which I knew what the answer would be

I bought a newspaper

£1.50 says she

Oh sorry, I said with a coin ready, I thought it was £1

Why is it £1.50 on Saturdays??

That's because of the free suppliments

Ah OK so the suppliments are actually 50p

No the suppliments are free

Right...let me put it another way

If I just take the paper and leave the suppliment I'm buying the same as the rest of the week so that sholuld be £1

No....it's still £1.50

Why??

It always is on Saturdays :wall:

Are newspapers run by budget airlines??

:dunno:

As Homer Simpson would say.. it's funny because it's true

I found similar recently when looking to buy a new till. One vendor sold the till at one price.. another sold it some £40 higher but with free software and PC-to-Till cable 8)

That makes sense

I got in touch with the people I got the till from and asked about the software. They said they could supply the software for £20 and the PCtotill lead for a further £20. Ah.. that made sense too  However, I never got to see the software and couldn't bring myself to spend £20 on a 1 metre serial cable. I was later told (by the till vendor) that the software wasn't up to much.. that's why they never advertised it. Just think though.. had I paid £40 more from the other place.. I'd have got it for free!

I recently flew over to the States for a wander round some of the scenic bits . The car hire organised with Alamo included a "free" upgrade from mid-size to full-size - which should have been a Chevrolet Impala. It was "free" because it actually cost £25 more for the fortnight in comparison to just getting a mid-size booking that resulted in a mid-sized car.

To add insult to injury - and apparently Alamo do this quite often - they gave us a Chevrolet Malibu and put the charge down as being for a full-sized car. The Malibu is smaller than the Impala and is based on the same floorpan as the Pontiac G6 that Alamo use as the definition of the mid-size range.

There is a certain FS website that charges $5 a month so you can download freeware including some of the stuff from here.

It's not a slow and fast thing it's simple..you have to be a member to download at all

But why go to a free site when you can pay $5 a month to download the same addon...illegally?? *-)

Here's another one for the pot..

We've had water coming out of the road at the side of the pub some 30-40ft past our car park for a fortnight and guess what.. workmen turned up at 21:00 this evening with mini-digger, pneumatic drill and all the bits to fix it. The couple who own the house directly in front of the digging have a tichy rug-rat so I guess they're all thrilled! 8)

It's obviously more logical to let the leak continue for as long as possible then start work in the evening as the road is quieter and the workforce can all be paid more for working unsociable hours ;)
