A2A Cub Questions

I have been looking at getting the A2A Piper J3 Cub with Acusim, but I have a couple of questions.

Can the engine be restarted with a damaged prop?

In real cold places like the Arctic, does it simulate starting in a cold environment?

Think the best place is to ask at the A2A forums mate..?

Hello,

I believe you must be the chap who emailed us?

Ive replied now though I am a bit confused as to why you would start the aircraft with a damaged prop??

Only asking if it could be done.

Point is AD.. you wouldn't though there are degrees of 'damage'.. eg, did the damage occur with the engine turning or not :) Damage to a prop could very well mean damage to the engine and on the Cub.. you only have one of each (prop and engine). What you have is a $40 sim and a developer trying to extend the boundaries of what can be done within the confines imposed by the sim developers to make something as real as can be made.

None of what you see in FS is 'As real as it gets'.. not by a long way. It's an illusion that encourages the 'player' to fill in the gaps :) It's as real as it gets for the money you've paid ;)

with the cub being hand cranked and this being simulated in the cub with the user having to manually crank to prop for start its very hard to do this when the blade isnt there to crank hehe.

As I mentioned in the email though the only way to really damage your prop in the accu-sim cub is to hit it on the ground which normally results in you quickly being stuck pointed downwards, requiring an engine overhaul.
