Airspeed Ambassador drawings w/ sections

Post by ccoulter »

Hello,

Would anyone know where I could find a 3-view drawing with fuselage sectionals for the AS Ambassador? I have found one 3-view here: http://www.aviastar.org/pictures/englan ... ssador.gif and a nice cutaway here: http://www.flightglobal.com/airspace/me ... ssador.jpg.

A book reference would be useful if nothing is available electronically. If all else fails, this goup would have something I imagine? http://www.das.org.uk/ambassador.htm

I appreciate your help very much,

Chris

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum :hello:

The Ambassador was featured in Aeroplane magazine some years ago (full database e t c) but I gave my copy to someone who was going to make one :worried: There must be someone here who still has it and is willing to scan the pages for you ;)

Hi Chris

Welcome aboard :hello:

The three view you show is adequate if you can't find sections of get hold of that edition

It's a lot better than we had to make many of the models available here, so don't despar if you have to use that.

Hi Leif and Garry,

Thank you. I don't want to get anybody's hopes up at this point but I wanted to see what reference material was available first. I have done some 3d modeling in the past but that was all outside of flightsim. Whatever I might choose would need to hold my interest since I have a sketchy track record when it comes to finishing 'hobby' projects. The Airspeed Courier might be another idea because I don't think it has been done before, though the Ambassador is much more appealing to me 0:)

I really do appreciate all the friendly help from everybody,

Chris

Actually Chris

a nice Courier, Consul and Oxbox would be very nice, one can never get enough Airspeed. ;)

Got to love Uncle Neville.

I agree.Picked up a copy of 'Rainbow and the Rose' last week in a charity shop.In the first few pages I saw mention of the Liberator, DC3 and Auster and thought this will do for me.I have read most of his books but not this one.Seems it was written in 1958 so might be a little less dated in style compared to earlier ones. What's more, this book looks the part with its period dust jacket.ATB EricT :)
