Transfer FSX to a new HDD

I have FSX running from a single drive ('E' Drive) BUT it is getting short of space it is only 160Gb. Windows 7 etc is on the 'C' drive.
What I was wondering was.... Can I install another HDD, I have space in the box, then copy the whole of the 'E' drive to the 'new' drive, then swap them so the 'new' drive becomes the 'E' drive.
Is this possible? I am assuming that when replacing the 'new' drive in place of the 'E' drive, Windows 7 will recognise it OK.
Has anyone done this before? Any comments would be a help.
Regards
John

Should work OK. I've done similar in the past

I'm guessing that copying the contents would take quite a while. And that you'd have to rename or remove the original "E" drive before naming the new one "E" or it may cause some kind of conflict

But otherwise sounds good

Thanks for giving me the confidence to try it. It worked very well and I'm now running FSX on a 320Gb drive.
For anyone who may be interested - I started by copying the whole 'E' drive to an external hard drive as insurance. That took about 4 hours.
Then the new drive was fitted and was given the letter 'F'.
I copied drive 'E' to drive 'F', then restarted the computer.
The original drive 'E' was renamed 'G' and the new drive 'F' was renamed 'E' and then I finally renamed 'G' to 'F'.
I then restarted again and ran FSX - it was quite slow and stuttering. - I forgot the defrag!!. Once this was done it was back to normal and am now getting my normal FPS.
Thanks again for your comments and it worked much better than expected.

John
