Don't know about you guys but I get fed up waiting for the damned thing to boot up, rather like the old TV sets fitted with valves. Just wonder whether manufacturers will look upon this as an excuse to raise prices. Turbo boosted boot up at a cost!!

No doubt manufacturers will inflate costs. Its a novelty for the masses. That generates mega income.

UEFI's already out there for public consumption and from what I've seen in the store, the price is actually slightly lower than BIOS-based boards of the same level of technology. That's how computers work (thankfully); it's the old stuff that gets more expensive to buy (go try and buy plain DDR RAM or, God Forbid, pre-DDR RAM).
That's the funny thing about computers - price tends to stay the same for the same level of technology at a given time. Everyone thinks that the price keeps going up, but I just priced building my "next" PC and came out to about $1000 for a Core i5 with DDR4 RAM, new Video Card(s) and new Motherboard (already have an up-to-date XFi soundcard) with a new case and a Terrabyte drive to replace my existing 3 drives. Oddly enough, that's almost exactly what it cost me to build my current PC 5 years ago and my "cutting edge" position is about the same as it was the last time - 1 step down from the top. This computer is only just now really feeling its age. I can run all but maybe the real bleeding edge programs just fine on this computer, but what's bleeding edge now will be "old news" in 5 years, so it's time for an upgrade.
