Rowland White and Len Deighton are very complimentary, so it must be pretty good. Get it, Trev. :agree:

I am told that Santa is bringing me a 'Kindle', as getting UK books out here is a pain, I'll get the electronic version later!

.. which it may be no surprise but it will be less expensive than a hardback copy but more expensive than the paperback edition! Wonder what happens if your 'Kindle' fails and you lose what was on it *-) I'm sure Amazon will have that covered :worried:

Just in case anybody isn't aware (where have you been :) ) , there is a free Amazon Kindle app available for android mobiles. It's great for a sneaky read when it's quiet in work.

I'm currently reading 1st Light, by Geoffrey Wellum after I saw it recommended on this forum

It's an electronic reading tablet currently being advertised on TV. I couldn't tell you how big they are but they appear to be around the A5 size. You download books to it (somehow) so you can go anywhere with a collection of books stored electronically on this pad rather than carry all the books with you :)

I don't know what an android phone is.. even though I see them advertised on TV

Im not a techie sort of person, but Android is (I believe) the most commonly used operating system for mobile phones. There are litterally thousands of applications that can be downloaded and installed onto the phones for surfing the web, games, SATNAV, and Kindle.

Many of the apps are absolute c**p ( a talking cat that you have to feed :) ), but then there are quite a few that are useful and are free to download, or cost pennies.

I spent well over £100 for a well known make of SATNAV a few years ago, but recently downloaded a free application, which is far better, and which I can keep in my pocket while driving.
