Some of you may have seen and even own the Die cast Model of USAAC DC-3 Lilly Bell II.

You may be interested to learn that a couple of weeks ago a memorial was erected to the crew of the Lilly Bell II that crashed a mile or so from where I live.

A friend of mine investigated the accident and an historical society ran a metal detector over the area and found some small pieces of aluminium from the a/c and these were put in the pot when the plaque was cast

The local newspaper report is here

The friend of mine tried to get USAF to do a flypast with a C-130 or something but they declined, as did the RAF but he was given the name of Andrew Davenport of Wings Venture who agreed to do a fly past on a DC-3 that was only two serial numbers on from the crashed a/c. The weather was perfect and I must say an excellent piece of navigating by the DC 3 crew to fly right over a small memorial located in a built up area

Superb item! Excellent flypast!

I suppose with GPS one can navigate to an exact spot (plus or minus 25ft?) anywhere on the earth's surface.
