That's me done !!!

Post by Techy111 »

Hi all just to let you know I'm done with PC's , I've spent too much money fixing my system this year only for it to fry again :wall: so from this day forth I have given up and shall not be doing any projects in my paint hangar anymore as the 2nd time this year my HDD with bits and pieces on has been chucked in the bin , I'll be selling all my yokes joysticks addons and the like soon so if anyone wants some good deals I'll give you lot first dibs , been fun but I've had enough after 26 years virtual flying and am moving onto rc flying .
I'll pop on with my iPhone and the girlfriends laptop now and again :cpu:
Cheers all

Tony

Sorry to here his mate :-O

You are much respected and I'm sorry to see you go :'(

I do have sympathy though.I just can't get my PC to do what it's supposed too and it is mega frustrating :'(

Hopefully you will reconsider :worried:

Even in a small way....look forward to you popping in :)

Sad to hear that Tony, but I do understand.

Maybe after a break you will reconsider.

Many thanks for all the repaints etc you've done over the years, I know my hanger is a brighter place because of them

Don't be a stranger, and keep popping in.

Probably a bit late but if your PC keeps eating itself then maybe you have an unstable mains voltage or frequency.

Either that or your the most unlucky person when it comes to buying faulty components!

All the best mate!

Hi Tony,

Thats a real shame mate. :((

At least you've not binned the aviation theme and are gonna fly em for real now (well kind of!)

Love to have a go at that myself. Already got too many expensive hobbies as it is.

You never know. You may do what I did. - Go right off the idea for a couple of months and then missed it too much.

Whatever your plans mate, keep in touch and stay around.

All the best.

I suppose it's too late to ask for a BART repaint for my CS757, then?

I know what you mean, though, Tony, having retired twice myself over the years :$

Well, it seems you can't keep at the forefront of this game (FSX) without throwing inordinate amounts of time and money at the hardware. I still can't decide what to do; I've got a basic sim setup on my laptop just to keep my hand in until I do decide. It's not an easy decision and yours is as valid a solution as any.

RC sounds like a really fun way to do something new and I wish you all the best with it. Some time in the future I expect you'll get a new PC and load FS up for old time's sake. It's refreshing to come back and look at it from outside.

Stay lucky!

Ian :)

Hi Tony,
Sorry to hear of your computer problems and reasons for giving up simming but would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and encouragement you have given me in the past. (It was Tony that taught me about video making).

I have just spent my last penny on FS now and will not be upgrading the computer or buying anything else for it but I still keep flying now and again. Just hope that one day Lady Luck will shine in your favour Tony. Just like to wish you all the very best and like me, just keep popping in from time to time when you are able.

Best regards
Nigel.

Tony

Yea, computers can be a real headache at times when they almost appear to have a mind of their own. Take a long break and maybe come back down the road. In the meantime please drop in here occasionaly as I am sure you realize we all will miss you and your contributions to the hobby.
