CV 440 Slides

Post by Tomliner »

These were taken at North Weald in 1987.The weather was rather dull that day but I hope you still find them worth looking at.Although it was a warbirds(or fighter meet) day, this was what really caught my eye and when I found out that it was doing a few pleasure flights, well there was no holding me back.I believe that it was privately owned and it looked to be in superb condition both inside and out.I think that the pilots worked for SAS.Perhaps Garry can throw more light on this aircrafts history.I and a friend of mine bought the last two tickets for this flight and the only seats left were at the window adjacent to the star board engine. Can you believe that nobody wanted to sit next to that beautiful engine?

Nice pics Eric

Don't know much about this one apart from I remember it being with Norfly

The only 440's I ever saw were Delta Air Transport in the early '70's :)

I can say where it is right now, it's on display at the Flyhistorisk Museum Sola near Stavanger in Norway.

Click Sivile fly on the official website here, then Convair - http://www.flymuseum-sola.no/sider/hoved.html

Yes that nicely sums up her history - just SE-BSR and then LN-KLK
