Now that we've got the yaw problem out of the way I'd like to tackle the issue of some simmers not seeing the built-in smoke.

If you can't see the smoke please respond to this email letting me know your exact set up, ie:

Windows version, CPU, RAM, Graphics card & driver, DX version, FSX version, FSX display settings

Brian

I also have an I7 930 at 4.3GHz but I haven't yet loaded the Nimrod :hide:

DX9

All settings maxed except water mid 2x

Note. I put the gauges

SimIcons.cab
SimIcons1024.cab
TrafficRadar.gau

in the panel directory and not in the FSX\Gauges directory.

FSX SP2

Win7 Pro (64)
E6750
4GB
GTX460 1GB

(Worth noting the smoke on all other models plus our own dev stuff works fine, so I cant see how it wouldnt display smoke as the smoke render within the game is working, from thick black to subtle opacity on other models. Problem must lie within gauge code itself not functioning on certain PC's?)

Even without smoke, flew her waddington to malta in real time, love her! I even just about figured out the AP for the flight so I can go get a cuppa over Paris

Hi Lewis :hello:

Tks for that ;) The smoke gauge on the Nimrod should give 3 degrees of smoke.. Full throttle - Gazzoolians (new word) of smoke.. reduced throttle (climb setting e t c) less smoke and finally cruise.. no smoke. I can't remember the exact cutoffs but you get the idea ;) It's been a pain in the butt from the word go! I didn't get smoke on the first beta and I think Brian had already seen a possible problem before I did. I got it in the second beta.. overwrote the files with the 3rd and lost it again and on it went. Fortunately, the last 4 or 5 have kept smoke but not with everyone. It's an odd one and no mistakin' *-) :dunno: Fingers crossed Brian/Jim can find a common denominator ;)
