I'm about there with everything now, although the only problem i'm having now is the installation of MAIW scenery. It downloads fine, installs fine, but when it comes to caching it in the add on scenery when fs9 is running,it's a no go

Sorry to be a pain again but could be somebody be as kind to give me a step by step account,it was so easy with XP.By the way there is no conflictions with any UK2000 installs.Once again, many thank's
in advance.

AFAIK you have to add it to the scenery library then restart FS9 each time you manually add anything. Are you doing that?
If it's not that you mean but the actual adding, remember to select the folder it's in (so in the browser you see the scenery & texture folders within) then click ok and then right click on the white space of the browser to add it.

tg13,
When you start FS9, goto Settings > Scenery Library...Over on the right click the "Add area" button...You will see a browser to goto and select your Scenery folder. This is the folder that contains the scenery that you wish to add (it might be for instance at "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\MAIW"...Browse to that and select the "MAIW" folder or whatever yours is called (inside it are two folders..."scenery" and "texture" and that is your scenery)...Don't go inside it, just select the "MAIW" folder and click OK. You will now be shown your "Scenery Library" list with your new scenery at the very top of the list. You will also see a note in red about clicking OK and then re-starting FS9...YOU MUST DO THIS! Your scenery is NOT added until you do.
So just click OK and then when it settles click the X at the top right to close...A warning will come up and ask if you really want to close FS9...Click "Yes".
Wait for it to properly exit FS9 and then RESTART it...Your scenery will now be in place, ready for you to go there
