A bit unusual as 1980 ans it seems to be one if not the last in the BOAC cheat line, and possibly one of the first in the 'British' titles
Obviously then, the aircraft never wore full Negus & Negus 'British airways'

I like that mix

NM was the last 741 delivered wearing BOAC (5/73) which may explain why she's still in partial Golden Speedbird some 7 years on

All things being equal that would account for it as she would be the last of the originals to get a repaint as it waited for a scheduled tart up

Oi! Cheeky monkey! Just because I haven't posted much lately doesn't mean I'm not keeping an eye on things!
That is one ugly jumbojet, isn't it? What a godawful mess. It might have been better just to paint it white until they had time to put new stickers on!

Right on cue!
I see your point being a BOAC man. Ex BEA staff would've hated it too.. I can name a few

For me, as an outsider to such piffling squabbles, I think it's a nice mix.. the lower fuse looking better on that than it did with full BA RT
