First time I've seen this site and finding it interesting - sorry if this site has been linked before.

Some interesting videos also under the photo section - British Pathe films.

I remember either on that site or another, about a project to restore a Viscount to engines running capability in the UK, but can't now find anything on it.

The only one on that site I can see being restored is the one at the Midland Air Museum...anyone know anything?

I think there is also a wish to run the one up at Brooklands.

I was sent some footage (last week as it happens) of APIM's #2 turning and burning.. well.. turning and screeching (otherwise known as windmilling) due to the wind. Our team leader sent an email to PIM's team leader saying 'I thought you said your engines didn't work'!

Nice thought but no.. that's not gonna happen I'm afraid. On the subject of engine runs.. while I'm not a betting man, I don't think PEP's Tynes will ever run again either. Been too long now and very few want to take the risk :(

The Viscount in question is/was F-BGNR owned by the Viscount 35 Association where they planned to get three running.

However the main guy seems to have left, the Viscount 35 Association has closed the website and the aircraft was sold to the Midland Air Museum. It seems largely untouched since it arrived at the Midland Air Museum, Coventry as funds are sorely needed

The current attempt it to assemble and preserve with restoration following sometime later when funds can be found *-)

Very sad to hear that Dave. :( Only the other day, by complete co-incidence, I was watching my footage of all 4 'singing', back in...wait for it....October 2006! :-O Can't believe that will be 5 years ago this year!
