Nimrod MR4 Scrapping

Word is........men are on site to start chopping this week

Supposedly all to be cleared by March???............any details or its this just rumour???? *-)

If true, it must be (pound for pound), the most expensive metal in the history of the planet! I bet they only sell it for peanuts though, still the men at the MOD are (and always have been) monkeys! Sorry, to any members here who are of the ape family.

If I were BAE Systems I'd be disposing of them as quickly as possible (I suspect after establishing that there was no other interest from abroad). Then, if we decide it's a useful capability in the future, they can start with a clean slate, and more crucially, a clean tab upon which to absolutely fleece UK plc... :doh:

We'll buy the P-8 Poseidon but fit it with our own electronics...which will take 15 years and 5 billion to develop and will still mistake lighthouses for periscopes. Hurrah! Back in business ! :thumbsup:
