The RAF would had to attend....just imagine if it was real and it was hijacked and flown towards London...they'd have to shoot it down.

Sounds far etched but they didn't know it was a hoax, even if they guessed it

If it had been real and something had happened the RAF would be criticised for not doing enough to stop it happening wherever it did............."They should have sent up fighters" would be the cry

Just can't take any chances.

How would they shoot anything down? As I understand it the Typhoon has no working cannon and probably wouldn't get the OK to expend a missile without a Cabinet meeting.

Also, where would they shoot it down, without a very high probability that it would kill people on the ground?

Or would the pilots say "Hey, tell you what, we'll fly out over the Atlantic so you can kill us all safely - just in case!"
