RFC Stow Maries Scenery not showing

Post by gordon-in-aberdeen »

Hello all,

Has anyone had any problems with the RFC Stow Maries Scenery by Stephen Legg available from the Pond?
I've downloaded it and installed OK it but it doesn't show up in FS9 no matter what I Try.

I've tried a reinstall of the scenery, using the auto installer, then the old manually way, disabled all my add on scenery, land classes and srtm files etc, played around with the FS9 scenery settings etc but still can't get it to show, no matter whether I fly to it or try to fly from it etc. Anyone else having any issues?

Might be missing something obvious, but I've not had any problems installing scenery before. Bit odd that it lists ok in the program, but doesn't apear visualy.

Thanks for any suggestions cheers folks

Gordon
Did you transfer the textures in the file to Scenery/world/Textures, as per Steves readme?

Martin and I both have it running this way, its a really nice piece of scenery and great for messing about in World War 1 stuff,....

Leif,

I'll recheck them tonight  . It looked like everything was in the right place, I did note that point in the readme file, but might have taken the wrong files

I may have asumed the auto installer would have done that since the scenery pack had one, even though the point was listed in the readme, but even when I extracted the files to a separate location, then copied the folder structure and contents over to the relevant places in FS9 it still didn't show, so I've probably tripped up on that part.. :wasntme:

Thanks for your kelp...

Found it Leif. Everything is in the right place, but the station doesn't show in the list of airfields, can't even search using X9ST, could only find X8ST which lists as Stow Marie AUX, south of the Thames, so started there, but its not the right field

Ended up going to the web site of the aerodrome at http://www.stowmaries.com where I found a map showing its location. Took off in the BE2c from Stansted and flew down to it that way.

Now for some fun  Chocks away...

Thanks Lief,

The odd thing is X9ST shows up on the map, but not in the list of aerodromes to start at when you configure your flight.

Interestingly I did find the other day that you can move /edit the Tower View's location point via the map view by simply dragging it round the countryside with the mouse. Might try dragging the BE2c there and see if that works.
