By some strange coincidence, a link to a very similar shot was posted today. Were you in either A/C Mr T?

Excellent

I'd have thought the '10 might have a slight nose high pitch with the A400 giving it large to keep up but it's the opposite in that shot. Nice pic and thanks for the link

Do they not have any problems with the A400 tailplane in the exhaust wake from the VC-10?

Looks like it's flying to the side of the Ten?? *-)

Closer to the camera :dunno:

Maybe that would put it out of harms way...or is it an illusion...yeah I know....it's a VC 10

I love the A400, looks fresh and up to the task, but isn't it great to see her relying on the Mighty 10. :)

Can't imagine him being too far to the side but I admit, it does look like that doesn't it.. even more odd as he's off the centre drogue. Good point about the 400's fin. It sit's nicely in the Conways wash doesn't it :-O . Perhaps that's why he 'appears' to be off to the right.. because he is *-)

Well she is certainly plugged in to the centre line!

As a comparison here is a VC10 K3 behind a K4. As you can see by comparing the two pictures the one of the A400 was taken at contact and it had not pushed in to the normal AAR position when the shot was taken... as you can see below the VC10 is much close...

That's a lovely shot. Never tire of seeing the old girl ;)

'H' looks slightly to the right too so the shot with the A400 is probably a trick of the light. Having seen some of your shots while receiving, you're smack in the middle.. definitely not wandering all over the shop
