IT Caught up with Me!!

Knew it would happen but only a question of time. IT at work have purchased new surf control software and would you believe it.........This Forum is now classed as a GAME and subsequently is now BLOCKED!!!!

The laughable thing is is that DM main site for downloads i.e. BAC1-11 Trident etc. is still accessable!!
So now unfortunately the only time that I will get here is when I am in town and able to get on a computer at the library which will be about once in a blue moon. Just a real shame as when it was quiet at work and I took a break it was great to come here. Any one here any good at overiding surf control software??
Just thought I would let you know in case any-one has been wondering where I have been
Kind regards
Nigel.

Oh dear.. the steady beat of progress marches on!
I know you probably shouldn't use the work pc to surf the net anyway but couldn't you have a word with them. Ask one of the team to come here and look and they'll see for themselves that we're not a game even though we're here to support one.

We have the same problem but we do have an option to request that the site could be unblocked. As DaveB says it may be worth a try,

No it isn't. Stop using Norton (I'm guessing you do) as it gives lots of false warnings. It probably did it because it's a weblink within a weblink, that's why it shouldn't register as CBFS on a IT block. annonymouse.org is a very well known annonymous browsing tool to hide behind.
You can type any web address into the window on here and it gives you a new link -
http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html
That is of course unless the IT dept has blocked that as well.

Hi Darren
No.. Peter wouldn't be so foolhardy to use Norton.. he uses Avast (payware version)

I have to say it worked fine for me. An ad box came up covering our changing aircraft pane on the lh side of the page but I clicked on it's 'X' button and it went.

I just removed Norton AND AOL from a machine, like pulling teeth from a stone statue of a polar bear,
There should be a law..... When I click uninstall damnit I mean it. No company should take it upon themselves to leave so much crap behind.
It's willfull damage to a persons property. , It's not green either, look at all the electricity I burn up weeding out the shtuff
.. I guess my frustration has
caught up with me... thread back on track
