FSX & The Barn Door?

Has anyone got Rick's T21 working in FS-X? With WinchX! and AeroTow, FS-X is in danger of becoming my preferred soaring platform but my T21 is less than ideal - non working vario and missing altimeter...

I don't think it was called the Barn Door...I always remember it very affectionately as the "Barge" :agree:

Hi Dave,

many thanks for the pointer to the thread. Not sure how I mised it when I searched the forum ealier but he-ho. :dunno:

The Beta is certainly an improvement on the native model, although it's a shame about the black squares around the instruments, especially the pitot head. Still it's playable.

Thanks again.

John

the Sedbarge was what my farther called the ones at Cerney --- I was probably in my early twenties before I realised it was actually called the Sedbergh......he also poo-poo'd the idea it wasnt aerobatic, by doing a very slow routine one afternoon having worked his way to 4000 foot off the winch....the young ATC cadet with him was very impressed.

I too have fond memories of the 'Barge' but most of my glider stick time was in the T31 tandem trainer.

From memory the Sedbergh was a pussy cat to fly, the T31 (which I managed to avoid) had the relative soaring properties of a brick.

One of my instructors reckoned the Sedbergh could fly itself round the circuit with just the occasional nudge on the control column - well it was older than most of the instructors never mind the pupils.

Apologies for the confusion on "the Barn Door" - it was a name my Air Acout troop used for the T21 at Lasham. It must have been just us! I'm still looking to correct my re-paint (http://www.britsim.com/index.php?option ... nfo&id=892) if anyone has any pictures of that beastie.

Still, I'm glad to have stimulated a few posts about the T21. I have fond memories of the flying and cold ones of standing around on the airfield. It's dificult doing short splices in rope to make weak links for the tow when your fingers look like a pound of Mr Walls' finest ...
