New look Avsim launched

Jimm, take another look! [Edit: he modified his comment while I was writing!]
Seems like an update to a CMS, probably to make life easier for the librarians. Having spent all day yesterday looking to upgrade my wife's website to "Web 2.0", it all looks a bit familiar.
Although The Pond is based on Joomla, it is not as obviously a CMS.
If Avsim has the same functionality, we'll get used to it

I hear ya Nigel. Definitely looks busy...kind of information overload. Still, looks better than the old Avsim.

I'm not a fan, fan too cluttered.
The Library, Forums and News Page all appear to be totally different in style, like three unlinked sites. A very strange move.

Well, I had a look, and easily found all the bits I want to look at. As always, a bit annoyed that the site is now set up for folks who want internet on their phones, so 60% of my screen is wasted.
But overall, fine...just wish SOH had a search engine that did not require prior knowledge.

To me the new layout is just too "busy" and not at all intuitive, finding anything is a test of patience. No doubt I'll get used to it in time, but on first impressions it's not a change for the better.
