Just been doing some evening circuits at LHR in the FSX CS707. I thought I'd share a few screenies.

A great looking jet even though I never fly it. Nice shots Ian ;)

Very nice indeed. The CS 707 is very tempting. ;)

Stunning shots mate, but alas not an aircraft I have much if any love for :)

I always liked the look of the 707 but I didn't like flying in them. They were a bit 'agricultural' compared to the VC10!

But this particular one is an exception. G-AVPB and I go back a long way! Freighters always had a steward as part of the crew to look after the tech crew and do a bit of paperwork, so with no passengers to look after we spent most of the time on the flight deck. VPB took me on my first trip to Bangkok and several other memorable trips. But those are other stories!

The CS model is really nice and has very few faults. It responds smoothly to the controls and behaves predictably. It doesn't seem to hit the frame rates any more than any other models I have and what I like most is that when I knock the autopilot off on approach it continues on a direct path to the touchdown point. So many models start to need corrective input at that stage and you end up in a life and death struggle with it

I loved flying in both of them Ian. Used to do the school run between LHR and Singapore as a kid in the 60's and just loved those two aircraft.

Thanks Ian - you just blew away my last bit of resistance (breaking strain of a damp Kit-Kat, me) to buying the freighter expansion

'SWMBO, darling, I'm buying a piece of history - OK?'

Fortunately, I've managed to blunt my hammer for internet use and already have the FS9 CS707.. no intention of getting the FSX version (the FS9 set already has the cargo models included) ;)

Right.. there's a BOAC Atlantean and Anglia van waiting to be bought. See ya in the debtors prison
