VC-10 Pilot's Notes now available

A full set of RAF and BOAC Pilot's Notes for the VC-10 (including some nice extra stuff, like Flight Reference Cards)) is now available on CD or download from Flight Manuals. Esssential reading for any real '10' fan and quite cheap at about 14 quid ($19,00 US). You might need a new ink cartridge if you want to print it out, the RAF volume alone is 440 odd pages, 200 less than BOAC!

If only I could be bothered or had the time to scan the docs I have (which include all of those)... I could make a bit of cash LOL...

One day! Anyway lunch over and back to work

Thanks for the heads up.

I've already got a hard copy of the BOAC manual and 'Flying the VC10' booklet though. It does look a bargain as Mach1manuals on e-bay have been selling CD copies of the BOAC manual on its own for $19.95.

That's interesting! Indeed Mach one Manuals has the same BOAC manual and the same RAF Flight Reference cards available here: http://www.flight-manuals.com/vc10.html. One downside of that guy though is that he inserts a large watermark into the PDF file. You can easily get it out again if you have Acrobat Pro (I did that) but it is a pain as many people will not have that software on their system. It looks like this is a better deal.

I have the two manuals from that Mach one guy and also a hardcopy of the 'Flying the VC10' booklet. On the other hand.... I don't have the RAF stuff.... I might just be tempted ;)

Actually, while we're on the subject: I'm thinking about doing a page on my site about flightplanning a Super VC10 flight, with the original documents. I'm also working on uploading some BOAC timetables for 1966 and 1968. Anyone interested in stuff like that?

I have a set of Beverley notes from this company for the on-going Simshed FSX Bev project and they are 'as printed', no watermarks at all on the PDF scans.
The range available is quite stunning too.....

I downloaded the manual today with no problems.

The BOAC manual is revised to June 75 (my hard copy is '68 vintage)
The RAF Flt Ref Card is revision Aug 67
RAF Ops Data Manual is Aug 66 - no revision
RAF Pilot Notes - Technical is dated Nov '81

Whilst I haven't looked at every page I haven't come across any watermarks. The d/load also includes several Flt Dk photos and panel ID Charts
