G-OOBK Boeing 767 on from Gatwick to Cancun :dunno:

Fuel dump ahead of a return ???

If it is it might be minor and purely precautionary given the long ocean crossing ahead with a twin.

So far made three complete orbits

He got lost, all those clouds look the same.

Maybe a passenger return? Someone wanted by the police trying to flee the UK and they have found out they are on the flight so it's going back.

The fact it looks like going back to the original departure airport rather than an emergency elsewhere.

Hmmmm, maybe they forgot the passengers

I'm sure it's nothing serious

An eleven hour flight almost all across the sea so anything at this stage is better to drift back to point of departure.

Any real emergency and he might have gone into Filton or somewhere else closer with a long runway. and of couse anything serious could cause Gatwick problems so a normal landing methinks

Must be frustrating for the pax :(

Hehe, I remember a Cathay Pacific 747 getting airborne from Gatwick, being handed off to departures and asked to call company on box 2 where he was informed that the majority of the baggage containers were still on the ramp
