HS 780 Andover's VOR dial obscured by yoke

I'm starting to like the HS 780 Andover as a kind of "Super 748" -- with one drawback. When in the virtual cockpit and flying straight and (mostly) level, the extension on the yoke's lefthand arm (i.e. beyond the arm's white collar/cap) obscures the VOR indicator dial to the left of the "Zero Reader". Here's a screenshot to show what I mean:

I can use Shift+Enter (this is in FSX) and a little zooming in or out to move the virtual eyepoint upward until the dial is visible past the end of the extension, but at the cost of reduced visibility ahead through the windscreen:

So, rather than using Ctrl+Shift+Enter/+Backspace/+Something/+SomethingElse to simulate moving my head to look past the extension, is it possible to have the option to remove that extension from the yoke's lefthand arm instead, please..?

David

PS The same yoke in the HS 748 obscures the RMI rather than the VOR indicator, so, as I almost always use VORs to navigate, it's been virtually transparent to me!

UPDATE: I've found a reasonable solution to be to reassign FSX's "Eyepoint (move left)" and "Eyepoint (move right") to keys such as "[" and "]", i.e. to simulate looking to the left or right of the yoke handle in small steps without fiddling with a point-of-view "hat"-switch or getting my fingers in knots trying to hold down 500 keys at the same time. (Okay, I exaggerate.)
