Confused over Vanguard panels
Posted: 03 Apr 2011, 20:09
Hello guys
It's be a long time since I posted on the CBFS forum---I've been serving in Afghanistan for the last year and have just started getting back into flight simming. My first choice for a flight was the venerable Vanguard, but I found I'd forgotten more than I remembered about the panel! Anyway, I got her going eventually, using a panel Fraser sent me back in August 2009 when I was working on a tutorial. Unfortunately I wasn't able to update the tutorial to incorporate the lovely new panel bitmaps before I deployed to Afghanistan but the panel is still installed in my Vanguard. The panel appears to be "Vanguard 951 953 Panel" judging by my downloads and FS2004 entries.
Here are the questions:
When I click on the throttle icon on the placard with the panel selection icons I get a skeletal version of the throttles appear, which seems to have two sets of fuel cocks, a set of throttles and no background bitmap. To get the 'normal' throttle panel (with a bitmap) I need to use SHIFT+9. Is this the way it's meant to be or am I missing a bitmap somewhere?
I have several Vanguard panels in the relevant download folder on my PC and I'm confused which is the right/latest version for he Vanguard. Right now I have:
Help! Perhaps I was too close to one too many "bangs" in Afghanistan but I'm confused.
Thanks

I have several Vanguard panels in the relevant download folder on my PC and I'm confused which is the right/latest version for he Vanguard. Right now I have:
- * a vc9panel.zip panel that I downloaded a couple of years ago with the original aircraft, which seems to be version 1 dated 2004.
* a vc9panel.zip panel that I found tonight in the BritSim library, which may be the same file but which seems to be dated 2006.
* the Vanguard 951 953 panel that Fraser sent me in 2009, but which I can't seem to find in the Vanguard section of the library on this website.
* and a CBFS_VC9_FS9_952_Panel.zip panel that I did find in the library here (it is the only panel in the Vanguard section, as far as I can see, the remainder being repaints).
Help! Perhaps I was too close to one too many "bangs" in Afghanistan but I'm confused.
Thanks
