Does anyone know any details of what looks like a frigate under tow between Filey and Flamborough?
Are we resorting to towing our vessels into position, pointing the guns and shouting bang?
I know we are skint but.............

Could it be the old girl HMS Bristol coming back to Whale Island?

She was designed to defend ships like HMS Ark Royal and HMS Invincible. In recent years she's been used as a training tool and accommodation. She's unique, the one and only Type 82

Bristol was the only one of 4 Type 82s built not to defend the small TDCs but the 2 big fleet carriers CVA-01 and CVA-02 that were canceled in 1966.

4 built? Are you sure? I know 4 were planned, but surely only HMS Bristol (D23) was built? And yes I know the exact ships she was designed to defend, but she ended up defending light carriers (originally designated TDCs) like RO5.
So do we think that it's her?
Kind regards

Definately John....

If you look just off Flamborough head, Mts Viscount is the black icon. She won't show herself as shes not under her own power.
Or on this one she is the light blue icon,

if you look at recent photos of her you can see she is the lead tug on the BBC site photo.

Thanks Ben
I just did a search on Marinetraffic myself and came to the same conclusion, it'll be good to have her back, the pontoon off of HMS Excellent doesn't look right without her
Thanks again
John
