Money bags

This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens
once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So, forward this to
your friends and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese
Feng Shui. The one who does not forward.....will be without money.

I've seen several versions of this.

Every 31 day month has three consecutive days occuring five times. May 2011 has five Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, as has July 2012 if we're interested in Julys.

The next time July has five Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays is 2016, and I have every intention of being around to see it. No guarantees of course.

The other occasions I've seen this tripe it was sent to me as text messages from friends. It hhas been suggested that the mobile phone operator started this to generate more profits but I've seen no evidence to support this.

My wife has just received a chit from "Ernie" telling her that she has won a small amount of cash - enough to buy a decent bottle of wine!!!

If you are, or have ever been connected to engineering of any type, including aeronautical activities, you will no doubt have encountered 'Gremlins.' These pests are known to position dropped spanners in the most inaccessible places, send bees and other insects up pitot tubes and cause those irritating electronic faults that cannot be reproduced as well as causing the same column of numbers added up several different times to produce different totals. Some people say they cannot exist, any faults being due to 'shoddy workmanship.' Now that could be so but those Gremlins do just keep appearing.

Dear old Newton has also stated that 'to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction' - so perhaps the evil Gremlin has a good counterpart ensuring that your springs don't break when you go through a pothole at 30mph, that your bike pump works and is with you when you get a puncture and that once in lifetime 'Ernie' brings a little liquid joy!

Anybody had a Gremlin experience recently?

Precisely - but that was the American blue headed species!!

Ours seemed to have RWB roundels all over them.

Poor old Bugs Bunny - more green than a parrot at one point.
