Tonks and H-C's new office arrives

Post by Paul K »

It'll be handy if one is right handed and the other left handed, so they can choose where to sit.

Well yes, but perhaps something from this century? Like say,
The VC 10 it's replacing.

I agree Joe...but a lot of the public don't know what a VC 10 is...have heard of it maybe but doesn't know what size it is or what it looks like

Mght have been better to have compared it to the VC 10 that is is replacing and the then added the Lancaster size bit :dunno:

The reference to the Lancaster is not to do with the A.330 being a tanker but to the statement that is is the biggest RAF aeroplane. *-)

Someone probably made an off the cuff remark to the reporter that the 330 was twice the size of a Lancaster and while that in itself has no relevance to the event, it obviously impressed the reporter

I wonder if 'Mr T' brought her over or if that was reserved for the multi-engine test pilots at Boscombe? Who operates the fuelling on this beast? No nav or eng, perhaps they will use a loadie!

I wondered the same but I'm not sure if Airbus are letting our boys near the real thing just yet *-) For AAR ops, a 3rd crew member will be carried. Can't remember what his/her title will be but it's something fitting I'm sure :)
