Have had the pleasure of meeting Kevin. He said that was the worst bailout he ever made. Both from the disappointment of having to do it, the hangup getting out, and hitting the tail because he didn't follow the bailout procedures they'd put together for the airplane. Ended up in pretty bad shape with multiple broken ribs, a separated shoulder, a broken leg, and burns on the lower half of his body, but he recovered and still flies races today.
