Generation X VFR scenery Version 3 out soon.

Like me, I know a lot of you use the photo-real VFR GenerationX scenery.

They have just announced an update that gives ultra high resolution updates to many cities and includes 3D models of notable landmarks. If you own version 2, you can use a code (UPDATE50) to get a 50% discount, making each volume just £3.99 including P and P. This version will ONLY update version 2 and is NOT a stand alone product. I am trying Vol 1 myself!

two things,

1. these were originally supposed to be a free update, but it now appears they are going to charge to cover manufacturing & distribution costs.

2. I'm still officially on version 1. I didn't take advantage of the V2 DVD upgrade option, instead I downloaded the updates, but it now seems this V3 update is only for "full" v2 owners, so I'll have to pay for the full product if I want V3

I don't mind paying for proper updates on discs, it is a big update approx 27GB for 3 volumes.

Especially as I just bought all three for a total of £11.98

What's the fps hit? Are we looking at VFR London type performance or is this scenery more fps friendly?

I assume it will only be a minor (if any at all) hit on FR's as the 3D models are not actually in the city, like London. The high res photo is of the city (unless I misunderstand) rather like the latest Scottish releases. To cover the whole area in hi-res would make them huge!

I think I got the discs for version 2 free, Dave. But had to pay £3.99 p and p to here in Spain.

Well the Republic of Ireland is released June 15th so...................................... after Northern Ireland, Faroe Islands and Rockall.
