Classic British Flight Sim

While contemplating my next travel adventure a friend at work suggested I do an all-nighter in Las Vegas. He suggested I take an evening flight from Dallas to Las Vegas; take the city bus from the airport to "the strip" (no rental car needed); play all night (no hotel needed); and catch the first flight back to Dallas the next morning. Brillant, I thought!! Never...again. I've never been more exhausted in my life. Had a blast playing the penny slots, drinking free Carona's (with a lime wedge...the only way to enjoy a Carona) , and chatting with fellow penny slot players (typically little old ladies ) in the casinos until dawn. My "winnings" at the penny slots were enough to cover my gambling costs and bus fare so my only out-of-pocket expense was breakfast at the airport.

Hi Brian,

Well its nice to go mad now and again and do these things and at least you did'nt lose all your money at the machines!

I'm afraid i am getting to old [wait a minute, i am old!] to do any travelling but i always wanted to do a few things, like going to see the five mile coal trains in the East coast of the US on to Denver for the old Rio Grande K37's at Durango, over to Seattle to Boeings plant to watch the 747's being built and down to the Panama canal for a trip through from one side to another ,i did plan to do these awhile back but with one thing and another it did'nt happen, more's the pity

Anyway Brian some great pictures and having only flown over it in flight sim i can imagine what it must be like for real, especially at nite.

"An eye full". I learned that the trick to surviving an all-nighter in Vegas is to pace yourself. Play in the casinos for awhile, then go outside and walk around "the strip" seeing the sights. Here are some pics I took at 'Caesars Palace' and 'The Venetian' between my visits with the little old ladies and the penny slots.

Actually i found that with no clocks anywhere in the casino, it is easy to loose track of time. Oh, yes I do have a wrist watch but that ruins my excuse for staying up all night! Vegas is a lot of fun, but not a place I would revisit often - too "over the top" and too damn hot most of the year.

Exactly! I was fine until I sat down at the gate waiting for my flight back to Dallas. From then on I was a zombie.

Very true. Leaving the casinos always reminds me of walking out of a movie theatre. When you see the sun and the sky (or the moon and the stars) you feel completely disorientated.
