Landing light penalty
Hi chaps, its been a while, but I didn't remember this penalty being based on the RADALT? Got the penalty at 2500ft, although admittedly only about 800ft above a mountain top
Ben.
Re: Landing light penalty
Hi Ben
Yes, it's always been on the RADALT. It's a pain in the butt.
Even worse when you get it in the climb out after a take off though. I had one of those last month.
Only found out why I'd got done from the 'blackbox' data that they record at FSAirlines now.
The latest client collects extra position and blackbox data. Our stats import it too now, so you can see extra detail on flight reports.

Only works if you're on the latest client.

Re: Landing light penalty
Cheers DM. I put the AP on over the bay of Biscay and went to entertain Daisy for an hour which turned into 2 and went back to the sim to find I was half way down the coast of Moroco Kids! lol, gotta love em.
Ben.

Re: Landing light penalty
Well, considering coming within 800 feet of a mountaintop would be considered loss of separation from terrain....
Yeah, the LL penalty has always had a ground component to it, that's why it's called "Landing Lights off Below 1000 feet". Can't get that if it's based off MSL and you're landing at El Alto.
Quick reminder for anyone who's forgotten -
"Landing Lights Off Below 1000 Feet" triggers when within 1000 feet of terrain.
"Landing Lights On Above FL100" triggers when landing lights are on and -
1) The terrain is less than 7000 feet MSL.
2) The Landing Lights are on.
If the Terrain is above 7000 feet MSL, then the penalty will not trigger until the aircraft is >3000 feet AGL.
